Bruce Cox, Jr. Doctorate of Ministry
Dr. Cox retired from the Federal Bureau of Prisons as a Supervisory Chaplain on July 31, 2014. During his 21 years and 9 months, he served female and male inmate populations at all security levels with dedication, love, respect and passion. He managed services and logistics for (18) different religious communities ensuring that each group practiced their faith freely.
Dr. Cox also provided quality pastoral care and religious counseling to inmates, staff and their families during times of crises. Despite retiring from the Federal Bureau of Prisons in 2014, Dr. Cox still feels called to continue serving others as a Religious Counselor.
One of his most recent honors was to serve as Interim pastor for 3 months at The Passion of Christ Church in Montgomery, Alabama. There he provided pastoral leadership, religious counseling, preaching and teaching to the entire congregation, and helped nurture the members and pastor back to spiritual health. Because of his passion to help the hurting, he worked part-time at CDS Family and Behavioral Health Services, Inc. as the Residential Administrative Assistant. This agency helps truant, ungovernable, runaways and homeless children from ages 10-17. Dr. Cox has been married to his wife for 40 + years and has 2 adult children. He is a member of Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church where Dr. Freeman N. Gallmon is pastor.
